Original WWII Winterhulp Nederland collecting form from the town of Marum in Groningen

This rare Winterhulp Nederland collection list is in used condition and comes from the village of Marum in Groningen.
On this list are 30 names of Dutch people who had donated to the Winter Aid Netherlands in Marum.
The amounts and signatures of the collectors are also on this list.
The front of the document shows the Winterhulp Nederland ‘Marum’ service stamp.

What was Winterhulp Nederland?

Winterhulp Nederland was a National Socialist relief organization active in the Netherlands during World War II, from 1940 to 1945.
The organization was founded under the supervision of the German occupiers and the NSB, with the goal of providing “social care” to poor Dutch people.
In reality, Winter Aid was primarily a propaganda tool. Aid – such as food stamps, clothing or coal – was provided only to citizens deemed “worthy,” often excluding Jewish Dutchmen or political opponents. Residents were put under social pressure to donate, through door-to-door actions, collections and propaganda posters.
After liberation in 1945, Winterhulp was dismantled.
To this day, the name remains a symbol of collaborative charity under Nazi control.

Deze zeldzame Winterhulp Nederland collectelijst is in gebruikte conditie en is afkomstig uit het dorp Marum in Groningen.
Op deze lijst staan 30 namen van Nederlanders welke gedoneerd hadden aan de Winterhulp Nederland in Marum.
De bedragen en handtekeningen van de collectanten staat ook op deze lijst.
Op de voorzijde van het document is de Winterhulp Nederland ‘Marum’ dienststempel te zien.

Wat was Winterhulp Nederland?

Winterhulp Nederland was een nationaalsocialistische hulporganisatie die actief was in Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog, van 1940 tot 1945. De organisatie werd opgericht onder toezicht van de Duitse bezetter en de NSB, met als doel “sociale zorg” te bieden aan arme Nederlanders.
In werkelijkheid was Winterhulp vooral een propagandamiddel.
De hulp — zoals voedselbonnen, kleding of kolen — werd enkel verstrekt aan “waardig geachte” burgers, vaak uitgesloten van joodse Nederlanders of politieke tegenstanders.
Inwoners werden onder sociale druk gebracht om te doneren, via huis-aan-huisacties, collectes en propaganda-affiches.
Na de bevrijding in 1945 werd Winterhulp ontmanteld. De naam blijft tot op de dag van vandaag symbool voor collaboratieve liefdadigheid onder nazi-toezicht.
