Original WWII Dutch NSB remembrance book – Fritz Schmidt

This rare NSB book are in good condition and were published on the occasion of the death of Generalkommissar and Hauptdienstleiter Fritz Schmidt.
The book contains many photos related to Fritz Schmidt and dates from 1943.
Fritz Schmidt was born on November 19, 1903 in Eisbergen during the war he was the Generalkommissar zur besonderen Verwendung in the Netherlands.
To this end, he maintained close relations with the NSB and arranged for the republishing of the anti-Semitic magazine De Misthoorn.
In the course of 1943, Schmidt, as a representative of the NSDAP and protector of Mussert, came into increasingly sharp conflict with Rauter and thus with Reichsführer-SS Himmler. Schmidt was accused of playing the NSDAP and the SS against each other.
On June 26, 1943, Schmidt was killed near Chartes in France when he fell or jumped from a moving train with a large committee on an inspection tour of the Atlantic Wall.
Whether it was a suicide or a murder is not entirely certain.

Het zeldzame NSB boek is in goede conditie en werden uitgegeven naar aanleiding van de dood van Generalkommissar en Hauptdienstleiter Fritz Schmidt.
Het boek bevat vele foto’s mbt tot Fritz Schmidt en dateert uit 1943.
Fritz Schmidt werd geboren op 19 november 1903 in Eisbergen tijdens de oorlog was hij de Generalkommissar zur besonderen Verwendung in Nederland.
Hij onderhield daartoe nauwe relaties met de NSB en zorgde voor het weer uitgeven van het antisemitische blad De Misthoorn.
In de loop van 1943 kwam Schmidt als representant van de NSDAP en beschermer van Mussert steeds scherper in conflict met Rauter en daarmee met Reichsführer-SS Himmler.
Schmidt werd ervan beticht de NSDAP en de SS tegen elkaar uit te spelen.
Op 26 juni 1943 kwam Schmidt om het leven bij Chartes in Frankrijk toen hij, met een groot comité op inspectietocht van de Atlantikwall, uit een rijdende trein viel of sprong.
Of het een zelfmoord of een moord was is niet geheel zeker.
