Count Maximilianus de Marchant d’Ansembourg 

Count Maximilianus de Marchant et d’Ansembourg was a Dutch aristocrat and prominent member of the National Socialist Movement (NSB).
During the German occupation of the Netherlands, he played a significant role in the National Socialist administration.
In 1941, he was appointed by NSB leader Anton Mussert as “Delegate of the Leader”(gemachtigde van den Leider) for the province of Limburg, making him the highest NSB representative in the region.
At the same time, he served as Commissioner of the Province of Limburg, effectively acting as the regional governor on behalf of the occupying authorities.
A staunch believer in National Socialist ideology, Marchant d’Ansembourg used his noble status and influence to promote NSB ideals in Limburg.
After the liberation, he was arrested and prosecuted for his collaboration.

Graaf Maximilianus de Marchant et d’Ansembourg

Graaf Maximilianus de Marchant et d’Ansembourg was een Nederlandse aristocraat en prominent lid van de Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging (NSB). Tijdens de Duitse bezetting van Nederland vervulde hij een belangrijke rol binnen het nationaalsocialistische bestuur.
In 1941 werd hij door NSB-leider Anton Mussert benoemd tot “gemachtigde van den Leider” voor de provincie Limburg – een positie die hem feitelijk tot de hoogste vertegenwoordiger van de NSB in die provincie maakte.
Tegelijkertijd bekleedde hij de functie van Commissaris der Provincie Limburg, waarmee hij namens de bezetter het dagelijks bestuur uitvoerde. Marchant d’Ansembourg was fel overtuigd van het nationaalsocialistische gedachtegoed en zette zijn adellijke status en invloed in om de NSB-ideologie in Limburg te bevorderen.
Na de bevrijding werd hij gearresteerd en berecht voor zijn collaboratie.
