Original WW1 German/Dutch internment document Rotterdam

Original German military leave document from the First World War dated March and April 1918.
The document was issued by the Service for Interned Prisoners of War in The Hague and concerns a leave permit for Feuerwerksmaaten Walter Metzner.
The document contains multiple official military and administrative stamps from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
On the front side there is a stamp from the Imperial German Consulate Rotterdam dated March 15, 1918.
A large blue command stamp is also visible across the original portrait photograph of Walter Metzner.
The reverse side shows several transit and control stamps including Bahnhof Zeebrugge dated March 17, 1918 and Bahnhof Berlin dated April 5, 1918.
Also visible are a Gemeente Zeebrugge Wsb stamp and a Service for Interned Prisoners of War Rotterdam district command stamp.
A remarkable detail is the original portrait photograph of Walter Metzner in uniform with the visible “M.S. Mainz” inscription on his sailor cap.
The document clearly illustrates the travel and leave administration of a German serviceman during the final phase of the First World War.
The document was hand-signed by a Major General.

Origineel WW1 Duits/Nederlands Geïnterneerde Krijgsgevangenen document Rotterdam

Origineel Duits militair verlofdocument uit de Eerste Wereldoorlog gedateerd maart en april 1918.
Het document werd uitgegeven door de Dienst van de Geïnterneerde Krijgsgevangenen in ’s-Gravenhage en betreft een verlofvergunning voor Feuerwerksmaaten Walter Metzner.
Het document bevat meerdere officiële militaire en administratieve stempels uit Nederland, België en Duitsland.
Aan de voorzijde bevindt zich een stempel van het Kaiserlich Deutsches Konsulat Rotterdam gedateerd 15 maart 1918.
Daarnaast is een grote blauwe commandostempel zichtbaar over de originele pasfoto van Walter Metzner.
Op de achterzijde bevinden zich meerdere doorgangs- en controle stempels waaronder Bahnhof Zeebrugge van 17 maart 1918 en Bahnhof Berlin van 5 april 1918.
Ook zichtbaar zijn een Gemeente Zeebrugge Wsb stempel en een Dienst der Geïnterneerde Krijgsgevangenen Gebied Rotterdam stempel.
Bijzonder detail is de originele pasfoto van Walter Metzner in uniform met zichtbaar opschrift “M.S. Mainz” op de matrozenpet.
Het document toont duidelijk de reis- en verlofadministratie van een Duitse militair tijdens de laatste fase van de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
Het document werd met de hand gesigneerd door een Generaal Majoor.
