Original U.S. Cold War Gentex HGU-39/P Flight Helmet with Communication Headset

Original U.S. Gentex HGU-39/P flight helmet from the Cold War era.
This military flight helmet was developed for use in combination with protective equipment for flight personnel and is based on the construction of the well-known SPH-4 flight helmet.
The example features a cream-coloured helmet shell with the distinctive open face and metal fittings on both sides.
The interior retains its original suspension system with brown webbing, crown pad and leather-covered sections.
The helmet is fitted with integrated black communication earphones with wiring and green fabric protective sections.
The original interior label shows ‘HGU-39/P’ together with the military stock number and contract information.
An interesting original piece of American military flight equipment for a collection focused on the U.S. Air Force, military aviation and the Cold War.

Originele Amerikaanse Gentex HGU-39/P vlieghelm uit de Koude Oorlog

Deze militaire vlieghelm werd ontwikkeld voor gebruik in combinatie met beschermende uitrusting voor vliegend personeel en is gebaseerd op de constructie van de bekende SPH-4 vlieghelm.
Het exemplaar heeft een crèmekleurige helmschaal met de kenmerkende open voorzijde en metalen bevestigingen aan beide zijkanten.
Aan de binnenzijde bevindt zich het originele ophangsysteem met bruine banden, hoofdkussen en leren bekleding.
De helm is voorzien van geïntegreerde zwarte communicatie-oorschelpen met bekabeling en groene stoffen beschermdelen.
Op het originele label aan de binnenzijde is onder andere ‘HGU-39/P’, het militaire stocknummer en contractnummer zichtbaar.
