Original Pre 1941 Dutch-Indies flight crew set photos and map

Original set consisting of a large Shell General Aeronautical Map of the Netherlands Indies dated November 1936 and two original photographs from approximately 1927 relating to Dutch East Indies aviation.
The large fold-out map is the ‘Shell General Aeronautical Map Netherlands Indies No. 14’ and illustrates airfields, emergency landing grounds, seaplane stations, prohibited areas and important locations across Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Celebes, the Moluccas, New Guinea, Timor and Bali.
The set includes two original photographs measuring approximately 18 x 13 cm each.
One photograph depicts the reception of the Dutch East Indies aviators in Batavia with participants, floral wreaths and the caption ‘Huldiging van de Indiëvliegers te Batavia’.
The second photograph shows three men standing in front of a Fokker aircraft carrying registration H-NADP before a flight to the Netherlands Indies.
Handwritten notes on the reverse mention Batavia, 15 June 1927 and the names Van Leer Black, Schulte, Weber and Gezendorfer.
A newspaper clipping on the reverse refers to the departure of an aircraft to the Netherlands Indies with crew members W.J. Schott, G.J.P. Walraven, D.G. Seaton and mechanic Weijmann.
The map and photographs are in used condition with light handling wear, fold lines, minor discolouration and age-related storage marks.
An attractive historical set for collectors of KNIL, Dutch East Indies aviation, Fokker aircraft, Batavia and colonial photography.

De grote uitvouwkaart betreft de ‘Shell General Aeronautical Map Netherlands Indies No. 14’ en toont vliegvelden, noodlandingsplaatsen, zeevliegstations, verboden gebieden en belangrijke locaties op Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Celebes, de Molukken, Nieuw-Guinea, Timor en Bali.
Bij de set behoren twee originele foto’s van elk circa 18 x 13 cm.
Eén foto toont de huldiging van de Indiëvliegers te Batavia met diverse aanwezigen, bloemenkransen en de tekst ‘Huldiging van de Indiëvliegers te Batavia’.
De tweede foto toont drie personen voor een Fokker-vliegtuig met registratie H-NADP voorafgaand aan een vlucht naar Nederlands-Indië.
Op de achterzijde van de foto’s zijn potloodaantekeningen aanwezig met onder andere de namen Van Leer Black, Schulte, Weber en Gezendorfer, evenals verwijzingen naar Batavia en de datum 15 juni 1927.
Daarnaast bevindt zich op de achterzijde een uitgeknipt krantenartikel over het vertrek van een vliegtuig naar Nederlands-Indië met bemanningsleden W.J. Schott, G.J.P. Walraven, D.G. Seaton en monteur Weijmann.
De kaart en foto’s verkeren in gebruikte conditie met lichte gebruikssporen, vouwlijnen, kleine verkleuringen en ouderdomssporen passend bij langdurige bewaring.
Een bijzondere historische set voor verzamelaars van KNIL, Nederlands-Indië, luchtvaartgeschiedenis, Fokker, Batavia en koloniale fotografie.
