Original DDR NVA Wachregiment ‘Feliks Dzierzynski’ sabre

Original East German sabre from the Wachregiment “Feliks Dzierzynski” of the National People’s Army (NVA) from the Cold War period.
This elite regiment operated under direct control of the Stasi and played a key role in guarding state buildings and party leadership in the GDR.
The unit also served as a ceremonial regiment during official events and parades.
The sabre features a high polish finish with a curved blade and matching metal scabbard.
The blade bears a personal engraving reading “Wach Rgt. F. Dzierzynski”, adding historical significance to the piece.
The hilt is fitted with a black ribbed grip with wire wrapping and a closed guard, typical for this ceremonial type.
An East German emblem is present on the hilt.
The sabre remains in good condition with light signs of use consistent with ceremonial wear.

Originele DDR NVA Wachregiment F.Dzierzynski sabel 

Originele Oost Duitse sabel van het Wachregiment “Feliks Dzierzynski” van de Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) uit de Koude Oorlog periode.
Dit elite regiment stond onder directe controle van de Stasi en had een belangrijke rol in de beveiliging van staatsobjecten en partijleiding in de DDR.
Daarnaast fungeerde de eenheid als representatief ceremonieel regiment bij officiële gelegenheden en parades.
De sabel is uitgevoerd in een hoogglans afwerking met een karakteristieke gebogen kling en bijpassende metalen schede.
Op de kling is een persoonlijke gravering zichtbaar met de tekst “Wach Rgt. F. Dzierzynski”, wat het stuk extra historisch interessant maakt.
Het gevest is voorzien van een zwart geribbelde greep met draadwikkeling en een gesloten beugel, typisch voor dit type ceremoniële wapens.
Op het gevest bevindt zich het embleem van de DDR.
De sabel verkeert in een nette staat met lichte gebruikssporen passend bij ceremonieel gebruik.
Een bijzonder verzamelobject gerelateerd aan de veiligheidsstructuren van de voormalige DDR.
