Original 1945 Dutch ‘Bewakingskorps’ cloth insignia

This original sleeve insignia dates from 1945 and belonged to the Bewakingskorps, the unit established in the Netherlands immediately after the Second World War to guard and secure military airfields, aircraft, and anti-aircraft installations.
This formation is considered the predecessor of the modern security units within the Royal Netherlands Air Force (KLu) and the Royal Marechaussee (KMar).
The insignia is made of black cloth with the word “BEWAKINGSKORPS” hand-embroidered in yellow letters in an arched shape.
The reverse clearly shows the original embroidery threads. The piece is in worn, used but still good condition.

Origineel 1945 Nederlands Bewakingskorps embleem

Dit originele mouwembleem dateert omstreeks 1945 en behoort tot het Bewakingskorps, de eenheid die direct na de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Nederland werd opgericht om militaire vliegvelden, vliegtuigen en luchtverdedigingsinstallaties te bewaken en te beveiligen.
Deze formatie wordt gezien als de voorloper van de moderne beveiligingseenheden binnen de Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu) en de Koninklijke Marechaussee (KMar).
Het embleem is uitgevoerd in zwarte stof met in gele letters het woord “BEWAKINGSKORPS”, handgeborduurd in boogvorm.
Aan de achterzijde zijn de originele borduurdraden zichtbaar.
Het embleem verkeert in gedragen, gebruikte maar nog steeds nette staat.
