Original WWII Dutch Liberation Flyer ‘Welcome Ally!’ / ‘Chers Alliés, soyez les Bienvenus!’ 1945

Original Dutch liberation flyer from 1945, issued to welcome Allied servicemen during the liberation of the Netherlands.
The flyer is printed on both sides, with the English heading ‘Welcome Ally!’ on one side and the French heading ‘Chers Alliés, soyez les Bienvenus!’ on the other.
The upper section displays the flags of Poland, Great Britain, Canada and the United States, representing Allied forces involved in the liberation.
The English text directly addresses American, British and Canadian servicemen and discusses the shared struggle against Germany, specifically mentioning Dunkirk, London, D-Day and Arnhem.
It also refers to the continuing war against Japan and the desire to bring freedom to the Dutch East Indies.
The French side thanks the Allies for the liberation and discusses the Dutch resistance, German occupation and Dutch citizens who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom.
At the bottom is the Dutch lion positioned between red, white and blue horizontal bands.
The French side also bears the publication reference ‘Publ. Ons V.V. ‘Notre Peuple’ sur le premier jour de la Liberté’.
The flyer is approximately A4 size and shows traces of handling and folding.
A particularly interesting original 1945 liberation document directly connected with the Allied liberation of the Netherlands and the final phase of the Second World War.

Originele Nederlandse bevrijdingsflyer uit 1945, uitgegeven ter verwelkoming van de geallieerde militairen tijdens de bevrijding van Nederland

De flyer is dubbelzijdig bedrukt met aan de ene zijde de Engelstalige tekst ‘Welcome Ally!’ en aan de andere zijde de Franstalige tekst ‘Chers Alliés, soyez les Bienvenus!’.
Bovenaan zijn de vlaggen van Polen, Groot-Brittannië, Canada en de Verenigde Staten afgebeeld als verwijzing naar de geallieerde strijdkrachten die betrokken waren bij de bevrijding.
De Engelstalige tekst richt zich rechtstreeks tot Amerikaanse, Britse en Canadese militairen en beschrijft de gezamenlijke strijd tegen Duitsland, waarbij onder meer Duinkerken, Londen, D-Day en Arnhem worden genoemd.
Ook wordt gesproken over de nog voortdurende strijd tegen Japan en de hoop om Nederlands-Indië te bevrijden.
De Franstalige zijde bedankt de geallieerden voor de bevrijding en verwijst naar het Nederlandse verzet, de onderdrukking tijdens de Duitse bezetting en Nederlanders die omkwamen voor de vrijheid.
Onderaan staat de Nederlandse leeuw afgebeeld tussen rood-wit-blauwe banen.
De Franstalige zijde draagt tevens de vermelding ‘Publ. Ons V.V. ‘Notre Peuple’ sur le premier jour de la Liberté’.
De flyer heeft ongeveer A4-formaat en vertoont gebruiks- en vouwsporen.
