Original Dutch ‘Nederlandsch Indië’ shoulder title from the 1945-1949 period.
The insignia is constructed from khaki fabric with orange embroidery and bears the inscription ‘NEDERLANDSCH INDIË’.
This type of insignia was worn by Dutch military personnel serving in the Netherlands East Indies during the post-war period and the Indonesian War of Independence.
Its curved construction was intended for wear on the upper sleeve of the uniform and provided a distinctive identification associated with service in the Netherlands East Indies.
This example is in used condition and shows clear traces of having been worn.

Het embleem is uitgevoerd in kaki stof met oranjekleurig borduurwerk en draagt de tekst ‘NEDERLANDSCH INDIË’.
Dit type embleem werd gedragen door Nederlandse militairen in Nederlands-Indië tijdens de naoorlogse periode en de Indonesische Onafhankelijkheidsoorlog.
De gebogen uitvoering was bedoeld voor bevestiging op de bovenmouw van het uniform en vormde een herkenbare aanduiding van de inzet in Nederlands-Indië.
Het exemplaar verkeert in gebruikte staat en toont duidelijke sporen van daadwerkelijk dragen.
