Originele Duitse legerfoto uit de Eerste Wereldoorlog met daarop drie Duitse militairen tijdens een munitietransport tussen Lens en Arras aan het Westfront

De opname toont twee militairen met Stahlhelmen die grote aantallen helmen en uitrustingsstukken dragen, terwijl een derde militair een kleine handkar met kisten voortduwt.
Op de achtergrond zijn zwaar beschadigde gebouwen en puin zichtbaar, waardoor de verwoestingen in het frontgebied duidelijk in beeld zijn gebracht.
Het originele Duitse bijschrift op de achterzijde luidt ‘Zwischen Lens und Arras’ en ‘Munitionstransport in den Strassen des völlig zerschossenen Lens’.
