Original American cardboard promotional display from the Second World War, produced for the American aircraft industry and related to the USAAF.
This decorative counter display dates from approximately 1943-1945 and was used as promotional material highlighting the American aviation industry and the production of military aircraft.
The display features a colourful illustration of an American fighter aircraft with nose art, together with a pilot and a soldier, accompanied by the slogans ‘The man we look up to!’ and ‘For young men going places’.
The lower section reads ‘Builders of Trainers, Dive Bombers and Fighters’, emphasizing the vital contribution of the American aircraft industry during the war.
Its original three-dimensional construction with raised elements makes this an eye-catching and highly decorative collectible.
Most cardboard displays of this type were discarded after the war, making complete examples increasingly difficult to find today.
