Original 1947 Dutch KNIL letter 6e Eskadron Pantserwagens Reg. Huz. van Boreel Commandant ‘Zuiveringsacties’

Original KNIL letter from the Dutch East Indies originating from Karel B.A. Blom, captain within the K.N.I.L.
The letter is dated Semarang, 3 September 1947 and addressed to photographer T. Bouman of the D.t.k. Hoofd Leger Contacten “BM” Division in Semarang.
Typed on official stationery of the “6e Eskadron Pantserwagens Reg. Huz. van Boreel Commandant” with document number 676.
The contents of the letter are highly personal and historically important because of the direct references to “zuiveringsacties” during the Indonesian War of Independence.
In the text Blom describes how Bouman is returning to the Netherlands due to illness and how he is missed during military operations and actions.
The letter also mentions armored vehicles, mortar fire, weaponry and a Leica camera, making it especially desirable for military and photography collectors.

Originele KNIL brief uit Nederlandsch-Indië afkomstig van Karel B.A. Blom, kapitein binnen het K.N.I.L.
De brief is gedateerd Semarang, 3 September 1947 en gericht aan fotograaf T. Bouman van de D.t.k. Hoofd Leger Contacten “BM”-Divisie te Semarang.
Op briefhoofd van de “6e Eskadron Pantserwagens Reg. Huz. van Boreel Commandant” met documentnummer 676.
