Original Pre 1940 German personal book from NSB member Max Blokzijl in Berlin

Original pre-1940 German book “Deutschland und die Deutschen” written by Professor Dr. R. Kron and Dr. Heinz Hungerland from the personal collection of Max Blokzijl in Berlin.
The book carries his personal ownership stamp with the address “Motzstr. 60 Berlin W.30”.
This stamped edition represents an important historical artifact from the interwar period.
Max Blokzijl worked for many years as a correspondent in Berlin before becoming one of the most recognizable propagandists of the Dutch NSB during the Second World War.
Through radio broadcasts he supported German occupation policies and promoted National Socialist ideology to the Dutch population.
After the war he was sentenced to death for collaboration.
The book contains both German and Swedish texts concerning Germany, culture and everyday language and includes maps of Germany and Berlin.

Origineel pre-1940 Duits boek “Deutschland und die Deutschen” geschreven door Professor Dr. R. Kron en Dr. Heinz Hungerland afkomstig uit de persoonlijke collectie van Max Blokzijl in Berlijn.
Het boek draagt zijn persoonlijke eigendomsstempel met adresvermelding “Motzstr. 60 Berlin W.30”.
Deze gestempelde uitvoering vormt een bijzonder historisch document uit het interbellum.
Max Blokzijl werkte jarenlang als correspondent in Berlijn voordat hij tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog uitgroeide tot een van de bekendste propagandisten van de NSB.
Via radio-uitzendingen sprak hij namens de Duitse bezetter en verdedigde hij nationaalsocialistische standpunten richting het Nederlandse publiek.
Na de oorlog werd hij wegens collaboratie ter dood veroordeeld.
Het boek bevat Duitstalige en Zweedstalige teksten over Duitsland, cultuur en taalgebruik en is voorzien van kaarten van Duitsland en Berlijn.
