Original 1953 Soviet/Russian metal commemorative plaque Joseph Stalin

Original Russian metal plaque featuring a relief portrait of Joseph Stalin, produced as a commemorative piece shortly after the Soviet leader’s death.
The plaque displays a strong profile portrait of Stalin in military uniform set against a geometric background typical of mid-twentieth-century Soviet artistic design.
Below the portrait appears the Cyrillic inscription “И. В. СТАЛИН” together with the dates 1879–1953 marking his birth and death.

Originele Russische metalen plaquette met reliëfportret van Joseph Stalin, vervaardigd ter herdenking van de Sovjetleider kort na zijn overlijden.
De plaquette toont een krachtig zijprofiel van Stalin in militair uniform tegen een geometrisch patroon dat kenmerkend is voor Sovjetkunst uit het midden van de twintigste eeuw.
Onder het portret staat de Cyrillische inscriptie “И. В. СТАЛИН” met daaronder de jaartallen 1879–1953 die verwijzen naar zijn geboorte- en sterfjaar.
Linksonder bevindt zich de Sovjetster met hamer en sikkel, het bekende symbool van de Sovjet-Unie.
