Original 1934 German Reichspost telegram

Original German Reichspost telegram form from 1934 featuring a propaganda illustration designed by artist Hanns Bastanier.
The form displays a dramatic illustration of an eagle above a flag with National Socialist symbolism, a typical motif from the early propaganda period of the Third Reich.
The artwork refers to the historical event of 21 March 1933 in Potsdam, also known as the “Day of Potsdam”, when the opening of the Reichstag was ceremonially linked with Prussian tradition.
On the reverse side an illustration of the Garnison Church in Potsdam is depicted together with the date 21 März 1933.
Inside the document is an original Reichspost telegram message from 1934 sent from Grevenbrück containing congratulations for a wedding.
The telegram is printed on official Reichspost paper and shows the characteristic typography and layout used for German telegram forms of the 1930s.

Origineel Duits Reichspost telegramformulier uit 1934 voorzien van een propagandistische illustratie ontworpen door kunstenaar Hanns Bastanier.
Het formulier toont een dramatische afbeelding van een adelaar boven een vlag met nationaalsocialistische symboliek, een typisch motief uit de vroege propagandaperiode van het Derde Rijk.
De illustratie verwijst naar de historische gebeurtenis van 21 maart 1933 in Potsdam, ook bekend als de “Tag von Potsdam”, waarbij de opening van de Reichstag ceremonieel werd verbonden met Pruisische traditie.
Op de achterzijde is een illustratie van de Garnisonkirche in Potsdam afgebeeld met de datum 21 März 1933.
Binnenin bevindt zich een originele Reichspost telegramtekst uit 1934 afkomstig uit Grevenbrück met een felicitatie voor een huwelijk.
