Original WWII Dutch Waffen-SS ‘Vrijwilligerslegioen Nederland’ poster

This Dutch Waffen-SS propaganda poster from the Second World War, measuring 89 x 60 cm, called for Dutch volunteers to join the Vrijwilligerslegioen Nederland (Dutch Volunteer Legion).
The bilingual appeal (German and Dutch), issued by the occupation administration under Reich Commissioner Arthur Seyss-Inquart, was directed at Dutch men to enlist in the Volunteer Legion.

Deze Nederlandse Waffen-SS propagandaposter uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, met een formaat van 89 x 60 cm, riep Nederlandse vrijwilligers op voor het Vrijwilligerslegioen Nederland. De tweetalige oproep (Duits en Nederlands), uitgegeven door het bezettingsbestuur onder Rijkscommissaris Arthur Seyss-Inquart, richt zich op Nederlandse mannen om zich aan te melden voor het Vrijwilligerslegioen Nederland. Dit legioen werd in 1941 gevormd als een eenheid binnen de Waffen-SS, bedoeld om aan het Oostfront te vechten tegen de Sovjet-Unie. Hoewel het aanvankelijk onder Nederlandse symboliek werd gepresenteerd, stond het organisatorisch en ideologisch volledig onder controle van de SS.
