Original WWII Danish Waffen-SS ‘Freikorps Danmark’ cuff title

The rzm cuff title is in worn condition and was worn by a Danish volunteer in the Waffen-SS Freikorps Danmark.
On June 29, 1941, the Danish unit was founded and during the Second World War about 6000 Danes served in this Waffen-SS unit.
On May 8, 1942, the Freikorp Danmark saw action for the first time at the front near Demyansk and Novogrod.
From August to October, the corps returned to Denmark and encountered much hostility from the civilian population.
On November 13, 1942, the corps was deployed to Jelgava in Latvia.
Originally it was intended for anti-partisan activities, but it was then moved to the front line.
In December, the corps took part in the Battle of Velikiye Luki in heavy fighting, along with the 1st SS Infantry Brigade.
In March the Freikorps Danmark was sent back to Germany and the unit was disbanded in June 1943.
The troops were divided over various SS divisions, including Nordland.

Originele WWII Deense Waffen-SS ‘Freikorps Danmark’ cuff title
De rzm cuff title is in gedragen conditie en werd gedragen door een Deense vrijwilliger in het Waffen-SS Freikorps Danmark.
Op 29 juni 1941 werd de Deense eenheid opgericht en gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog diende er zo’n 6000 Denen in deze Waffen-SS eenheid.
Op 8 mei 1942 kwam het Freikorp Danmark voor het eerst in actie aan het front bij Demyansk en Novogrod.
Van augustus tot oktober keerde het korps terug naar Denemarken en stuitte op veel vijandigheid van de burgerbevolking. Op 13 november 1942 werd het korps uitgezonden naar Jelgava in Letland. Oorspronkelijk was het bedoeld voor anti-partijgebonden activiteiten, maar het werd toen verplaatst naar de frontlinie. In december nam het korps deel aan de Slag om Velikiye Luki in hevige gevechten, samen met de 1 SS-Infanteriebrigade.
In maart werd het Freikorps Danmark terug gestuurd naar Duitsland en de eenheid werd ontbonden in juni 1943.
De manschappen werden verdeeld over diverse SS divisies waaronder Nordland.
