Original WWII US M1 Westinghouse helmet liner used by the Dutch Regiment Stoottroepen

Original US M1 Westinghouse helmet liner from the Second World War, used by the Dutch Regiment Stoottroepen.
The liner retains its original olive green finish and shows normal signs of military use.
On both sides is the Regiment Stoottroepen stamp.
The leather sweatband is marked with the name of the Dutch soldier ‘M. van Diefe’.
The interior also retains the original Westinghouse D18 production marking.
The Regiment Stoottroepen was formed in September 1944 from Dutch volunteers who enlisted in liberated areas.
The unit participated in the liberation of the Netherlands and later served during operations in the Dutch East Indies.
An original historical helmet liner with clear Dutch post-war provenance and a personally marked owner.

Originele WWII US M1 Westinghouse helm liner gebruikt door het Nederlandse Regiment Stoottroepen

De liner is voorzien van de originele olijfgroene afwerking en toont normale gebruikssporen die passen bij langdurig militair gebruik.
Aan beide zijden is nog de stempel van het Regiment Stoottroepen zichtbaar.
De leren zweetband is gemarkeerd met de naam van de Nederlandse militair ‘M. van Diefe’.
Aan de binnenzijde is tevens de Westinghouse productiemarkering met D18 zichtbaar.
Het Regiment Stoottroepen werd opgericht in september 1944 uit Nederlandse vrijwilligers die zich in bevrijd gebied hadden gemeld.
De eenheid nam deel aan de bevrijding van Nederland en werd daarna ingezet tijdens gevechtsoperaties in Nederlands-Indië.
