Original WWII US Airborne grouping Sgt. William R. Meyers – 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division

This US Airborne grouping is in good condition and belonged to Sergeant William R. Meyers, who served in the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division.
He fought in Italy, southern France during Operation Dragoon, the Ardennes offensive and during the Rhineland campaign, among others.
During Operation Dragoon he earned a Bronze Star for his heroic performance during the battles, the story has been elaborated by the family and is included in this set.
His set consists of the M42 Jump suit, M42 Jump trousers, Jump boots, blouse with his jump wings on it, pants, completed parachute log book, photo of a friend named Bill at Fort Benning and a number of copies from the U.S. military archives containing information about Meyers and his combat history.
A very interesting Airborne grouping by name for the militaria or World War II collection!

Deze US Airborne grouping is in goede conditie en behoorde tot de Sergeant William R. Meyers, welke diende in het 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment van de 82nd Airborne Division.
Hij vocht onder andere in Italië, Zuid-Frankrijk tijdens Operation Dragoon, het Ardennen offensief en tijdens de Rhineland campaign.
Tijdens Operation Dragoon behaalde hij een Bronze Star voor zijn heldhaftig optreden tijdens de gevechten, het verhaal is door de familie uitgewerkt en zit in deze set.
Zijn set bestaat uit de M42 Jump suit, M42 Jump trousers, Jump boots, blouse met daarop zijn jump wings, broek, ingevuld parachute log book, foto van een vriend genaamd Bill op Fort Benning en een aantal kopieen uit het Amerikaanse militaire archief met daarop informatie over Meyers en zijn gevechtsgeschiedenis.
Een zeer interessante Airborne grouping op naam voor de militaria of Tweede Wereldoorlog collectie!
