Original WWII German Technische Nothilfe (TENO) cap eagle

This German cloth cap eagle is in mint condition and was worn on the overseas cap of the TENO, also known as Technische Nothilfe.
The eagle is produced with silver thread and marked Ges.Gesch.

TENO

The Technische Nothilfe (Teno) was a German paramilitary organization originally established in 1919 to protect critical infrastructure and industries from strikes and sabotage. During World War II, Teno’s role expanded significantly, making it an essential part of the Nazi regime.
Teno consisted mainly of technically skilled workers and engineers and was deployed for disaster relief, repairing damage after bombings, and constructing defensive structures.
In occupied territories, Teno units assisted in restoring railways, bridges, and communication infrastructure to support the military operations of the Wehrmacht.
Although the organization was theoretically a civilian emergency service, it became highly militarized and closely cooperated with other Nazi institutions such as the SS and the Ordnungspolizei.
Towards the end of the war, some Teno members were even deployed as combat troops.
After the war, Teno was disbanded, and its role in collaboration and war efforts was further investigated.
Today, the organization is primarily remembered as a technical support branch of the Nazi regime, fulfilling both civilian and military functions.

De adelaar is geproduceerd met zilverdraad en gemarkeerd met Ges.Gesch.

De Technische Nothilfe (Teno) was een Duitse paramilitaire organisatie die in eerste instantie werd opgericht in 1919 om belangrijke infrastructuur en industrieën te beschermen tegen stakingen en sabotage. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog groeide de rol van Teno aanzienlijk en werd de organisatie een essentieel onderdeel van het naziregime.
Teno bestond voornamelijk uit technisch geschoolde arbeiders en ingenieurs en werd ingezet voor rampenbestrijding, herstellingen na bombardementen en de bouw van verdedigingswerken.
In de bezette gebieden hielpen Teno-eenheden bij het herstellen van spoorwegen, bruggen en communicatie-infrastructuur om de militaire operaties van de Wehrmacht te ondersteunen.
Hoewel de organisatie in theorie een civiele hulpdienst was, werd ze sterk gemilitariseerd en werkte ze nauw samen met andere nazi-instellingen zoals de SS en de Ordnungspolizei.
Tegen het einde van de oorlog werden sommige Teno-leden zelfs als gevechtstroepen ingezet.
Na de oorlog werd de Teno ontbonden en werd haar rol in de collaboratie en oorlogsinspanningen verder onderzocht.
Tegenwoordig wordt de organisatie voornamelijk herinnerd als een technisch ondersteunende tak van het naziregime, die zowel civiele als militaire functies vervulde.
