Original WWII German Reichspost visor cap

This German visor cap is in good condition, marked on the inside and was worn by a member of the Deutsche Reichspost during World War II.
The Reichspost was Germany’s national postal and telecommunications service during the period of the German Empire, the Weimar Republic, and throughout World War II. Under the government of Nazi Germany, the Reichspost played an essential role in maintaining communication and administrative functions both within Germany and in occupied territories.
During the war, the Reichspost expanded its responsibilities beyond civilian mail delivery. It supported the military by handling logistical communications, transporting government documents, and facilitating the flow of information across the expanding front lines. It also became involved in monitoring communication, contributing to state surveillance and censorship efforts.
Employees of the Reichspost were organized in a formal, uniformed structure and were considered part of the civil service.

Deze Duitse pet is in goede conditie, gemarkeerd aan de binnenzijde en werd gedragen door een lid van de Deutsche Reichspost tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
De Reichspost was de nationale post- en telecommunicatiedienst van Duitsland tijdens het Duitse Keizerrijk, de Weimarrepubliek en gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Onder het regime van nazi-Duitsland speelde de Reichspost een essentiële rol in het handhaven van communicatie en administratieve functies, zowel binnen Duitsland als in de bezette gebieden.
Tijdens de oorlog breidde de Reichspost haar taken uit tot meer dan alleen de bezorging van burgerpost.
