This large format German certificate is in used condition and it concerns a shooting competition for the challenge prize of the district association “Reichsbahn” in the Reichskolonialbund.

The Reichskolonialbund

The Kolonialbund (in full: Reichskolonialbund) was a National Socialist organization in Nazi Germany, founded in 1936, whose purpose was to support German colonial ambitions – in other words, to strive to recapture and expand former German colonies in Africa and elsewhere, which Germany had lost after World War I under the Treaty of Versailles.
The Kolonialbund had no military or administrative power over colonies (because Germany had none at that time), but functioned as a propaganda and advocacy organization. Its main activities were:
Cultivating colonial ideology within the Nazi party and among the wider public.
Publishing brochures, magazines and educational materials on the “necessity” of colonial territories for Germany.

Organizing exhibitions, lectures and demonstrations glorifying Germany’s colonial past.
Networking with former colonial officials, missionaries and entrepreneurs.

De Reichskolonialbund 

De Kolonialbund (voluit: Reichskolonialbund) was een nationaalsocialistische organisatie in nazi-Duitsland, opgericht in 1936, met als doel het ondersteunen van Duitse koloniale ambities – met andere woorden: het streven naar het heroveren en uitbreiden van voormalige Duitse koloniën in Afrika en elders, die Duitsland na de Eerste Wereldoorlog had verloren onder het Verdrag van Versailles.
De Kolonialbund had geen militaire of administratieve macht over koloniën (omdat Duitsland er op dat moment geen had), maar functioneerde als een propaganda- en belangenorganisatie.
De belangrijkste activiteiten waren:
Het cultiveren van koloniale ideologie binnen de nazi-partij en bij het bredere publiek.
Het uitgeven van brochures, tijdschriften en lesmateriaal over de “noodzaak” van koloniale gebieden voor Duitsland.
Het organiseren van tentoonstellingen, lezingen en demonstraties waarin het koloniale verleden van Duitsland werd verheerlijkt.
Het onderhouden van netwerken met voormalige koloniale ambtenaren, missionarissen en ondernemers.
