Original German photograph from the Second World War showing NSB street markings in The Hague.
Several symbols and texts painted in white are visible on the pavement, including multiple Wolfsangel-like symbols and the words ‘HOU-ZEE’.
‘Hou Zee’ was the well-known greeting and slogan of the Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging in Nederland (NSB).
The photograph is an interesting period document showing political street expressions during the German occupation of the Netherlands.
The reverse bears a photographic stamp from Theis-Foto on Obrechtstraat in The Hague.
The reverse is additionally handwritten ‘Den Haag’ and ‘Juli ’41’, dating the photograph to July 1941.

Originele Duitse foto uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog met NSB-straatopschriften in Den Haag

Op het wegdek zijn verschillende met witte verf aangebrachte tekens en teksten zichtbaar, waaronder meerdere wolfsangelachtige symbolen en de tekst ‘HOU-ZEE’.
‘Hou Zee’ was de bekende groet en leus van de Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging in Nederland (NSB).
De foto vormt een bijzonder tijdsdocument van politieke straatuitingen tijdens de Duitse bezetting van Nederland.
Op de achterzijde bevindt zich een fotostempel van Theis-Foto aan de Obrechtstraat in Den Haag.
Daarnaast staat op de achterzijde handgeschreven ‘Den Haag’ en ‘Juli ’41’, waarmee de opname in juli 1941 wordt gedateerd.
