Original German photograph from the Second World War, taken at the railway station of Apeldoorn in the Netherlands.
The photograph shows a train with freight wagons and several German soldiers positioned on one of the wagons.
According to the original handwritten description on the reverse, the photograph shows German anti-aircraft equipment at Apeldoorn railway station.
The reverse includes the handwritten text ‘Duitse trein colonne’ as well as a reference to Apeldoorn.
It also bears the Dutch photographer’s stamp ‘Theens-Foto Delft-Den Haag’ together with the number 2280.
The photograph provides an interesting view of the German military presence and use of the Dutch railway network during the occupation.

Originele Duitse foto uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, genomen bij het spoorwegstation van Apeldoorn in Nederland

De foto toont een trein met goederenwagons en meerdere Duitse militairen die zich op een wagon bevinden.
Volgens de oorspronkelijke handgeschreven beschrijving op de achterzijde betreft het Duits afweergeschut bij het station van Apeldoorn.
Op de achterzijde staat onder andere ‘Duitse trein colonne’ geschreven, evenals een verwijzing naar Apeldoorn.
