Original German Luftwaffe drawing dated 1942 depicting German military aircraft and ground personnel at an airfield during the Second World War.
The composition is dominated by a Junkers Ju 88 twin-engine combat aircraft being serviced by several members of the Luftwaffe ground crew.
A Junkers Ju 87 ‘Stuka’ dive bomber is depicted in the background, one of the best-known German aircraft types of the Second World War.
Ladders, tools and various maintenance activities are shown around the Junkers Ju 88, including work on the engine and propeller.
A Luftwaffe serviceman handling an ammunition belt is also depicted in the foreground.
The combination of the Junkers Ju 88 and Junkers Ju 87 ‘Stuka’ provides an interesting representation of everyday technical activities within the German Luftwaffe.
The drawing is hand-signed and dated ‘42’ in the lower left corner.
Executed in pencil, the artwork shows considerable attention to the aircraft, engines, propellers, armament and Luftwaffe ground personnel.

Originele Duitse Luftwaffe tekening uit 1942 met een gedetailleerde voorstelling van Duitse militaire vliegtuigen en grondpersoneel op een vliegveld tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog

Centraal op de tekening staat een Junkers Ju 88 tweemotorig gevechtsvliegtuig waaraan verschillende leden van het Luftwaffe grondpersoneel onderhoudswerkzaamheden uitvoeren.
Op de achtergrond is een Junkers Ju 87 ‘Stuka’ duikbommenwerper afgebeeld, een van de bekendste Duitse vliegtuigtypen uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Rondom de Junkers Ju 88 zijn ladders, gereedschappen en verschillende technische werkzaamheden weergegeven, waaronder werkzaamheden aan de motor en propeller.
Op de voorgrond is tevens een Luftwaffe militair afgebeeld die met een munitieband bezig is.
