Original German WWII instruction and training book concerning the Leichte Feld-Haubitze 18/40, with the designation ‘D 2021/2’ printed on the cover.
This rare book is produced as a ‘Transart-Darstellung’ and contains multiple transparent plates allowing the construction of the German artillery piece to be examined layer by layer.
Turning the numbered transparent plates progressively removes individual components of the howitzer, revealing its internal construction and technical arrangement.
The components are numbered and identified in German, including the shield, barrel, muzzle brake, recoil system, carriage, aiming mechanisms, wheels and various lower carriage components.
The publication was produced by Transart Kommandit-Gesellschaft für Zellglas-Kunstdruck F.-W. Gloatz & Co. in Berlin-Halensee, with illustrations by Thomas Abeking.
The Leichte Feld-Haubitze 18/40 was a German 10.5 cm field howitzer produced from 1943 and used by the Wehrmacht during WWII.
The book remains in used condition with storage and handling traces to the cover and pages, while the distinctive transparent technical plates are present as shown.

Origineel Duits instructie- en opleidingsboek uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog over de Leichte Feld-Haubitze 18/40, met op de omslag de aanduiding ‘D 2021/2’
Het zeldzame boek is uitgevoerd als ‘Transart-Darstellung’ en bevat meerdere transparante platen waarmee de constructie van het Duitse artilleriestuk laag voor laag kan worden bekeken.
Door het omslaan van de genummerde transparante platen worden afzonderlijke onderdelen van de houwitser verwijderd, waardoor de interne opbouw en technische constructie duidelijk zichtbaar worden.
De onderdelen zijn genummerd en worden in het Duits benoemd, waaronder het schild, de loop, mondingsrem, terugloopinrichting, affuit, richtmechanismen, wielen en verschillende onderdelen van de onderlafette.
De uitgave werd vervaardigd door Transart Kommandit-Gesellschaft für Zellglas-Kunstdruck F.-W. Gloatz & Co. in Berlin-Halensee, met tekeningen van Thomas Abeking.
