Original WWII German large album ‘Grossdeutschland im Weltgeschehen’ 1942

This German large-format album “Grossdeutschland im Weltgeschehen – Tagesbildberichte 1942” is an impressive historical photo work that provides an extensive visual overview of events within the Third Reich during the year 1942.
The album measures 42.5 x 31.5 cm, features a luxurious leather cover with gold embossing, and was originally used in the Amtsbücherei der Reichspostdirektion Wien in Austria.
Inside, it contains a large number of photographs depicting various scenes, including visits by high-ranking officials, official ceremonies and military inspections, meetings between German leaders and allies, harsh winter combat on the Eastern Front, troop movements, trenches and frontline activities, as well as destroyed cities and civilian scenes following combat operations.
The photographs are arranged chronologically and reflect both the military and political atmosphere of the period, consistent with the propagandistic nature of such albums.
Despite visible signs of age, the album remains in solid and well-preserved condition.

Dit Duitse grootformaat album ‘Grossdeutschland im Weltgeschehen – Tagesbildberichte 1942’ is een indrukwekkend historisch fotowerk dat een uitgebreid beeld geeft van de gebeurtenissen binnen het Derde Rijk tijdens het jaar 1942.
Het album heeft de afmetingen van 42,5 x 31,5 cm, is luxueus uitgevoerd met een lederen omslag en goudopdruk, en werd destijds gebruikt in de Amtsbücherei der Reichspostdirektion Wien in Oostenrijk.
