Original WWII German Horst Wessel poster

This small format Horst Wessel poster is in good condition and was originally signed by SA-Obersturmfuhrer Professor Elk Eber.

Horst Wessel 

Horst Wessel (1907–1930) was a German National Socialist and SA leader (Sturmabteilung) who, after his death, was portrayed by the Nazis as a martyr for their ideology. He joined the NSDAP at a young age and wrote a propaganda song, later known as the Horst Wessel Lied, which became one of the main anthems of the Nazi movement. In 1930, he was shot and killed in Berlin, allegedly by a communist. The Nazi propaganda machine, led by Joseph Goebbels, turned his death into a symbol of the “struggle against Bolshevism,” contributing to his status within the party’s cult of personality.

Horst Wessel 

Horst Wessel (1907–1930) was een Duitse nationaalsocialist en SA-leider (Sturmabteilung) die na zijn dood door de nazi’s werd opgevoerd als martelaar voor hun ideologie. Hij sloot zich op jonge leeftijd aan bij de NSDAP en schreef een propagandalied, later bekend als de Horst-Wessel-Lied, dat een van de belangrijkste hymnes van de nazi-beweging werd. In 1930 werd hij in Berlijn doodgeschoten, vermoedelijk door een communist. De nazi-propagandamachine onder leiding van Joseph Goebbels maakte van zijn dood een symbool van de “strijd tegen het bolsjewisme”, wat bijdroeg aan zijn status binnen de partijcultus.
