Original WWII German Erkennungsmarke Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 16

This German Erkennungsmarke is in good condition and was worn by a member of the Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 16 during World War II.

The Abteilung was formed on April 5 in Graudenz, Wehrkreis XX. It was formed for Wehrkreis VI from companies of the Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 6 stationed in Elbing and was initially subordinate to the commander of the Nachrichtentruppen XX. From August 1940, the Abteilung was subordinate to the commander of the Nachrichtentruppe VI. On August 18, 1940, the Abteilung was relocated to Münster, Wehrkreis VI. On October 1, 1942, the Abteilung formed the Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 6.

Deze Duitse Erkennungsmarke is in goede conditie en werd gedragen door een lid van de Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 16 tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

De Abteilung werd op 5 april gevormd in Graudenz, Wehrkreis XX. Het werd gevormd voor Wehrkreis VI uit compagnieën van de Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 6 gestationeerd in Elbing en was aanvankelijk ondergeschikt aan de commandant van de Nachrichtentruppen XX. Vanaf augustus 1940 was de Abteilung ondergeschikt aan de commandant van de Nachrichtentruppe VI. Op 18 augustus 1940 werd de Abteilung overgeplaatst naar Münster, Wehrkreis VI. Op 1 oktober 1942 vormde de Abteilung de Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 6.
