Original WWII German Anschluss Medal 1 October 1938 Sudetenland Medal

Original German Anschluss Medal of 1 October 1938 from the Second World War period.
This decoration is officially known as the Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938 and was instituted to commemorate the German annexation of the Sudetenland.
The obverse depicts two men with a flag, with one figure leading the other onto a raised platform, and the German eagle with swastika below.
The reverse bears the date ‘1. Oktober 1938’ in the centre, surrounded by the inscription ‘EIN VOLK · EIN REICH · EIN FÜHRER’.
The medal has a bronze-coloured finish and is complete with its distinctive black and red ribbon.
This example retains its ribbon and shows light traces of wear.
An interesting original German decoration directly connected with the German annexation of the Sudetenland in 1938 and the events preceding the Second World War.

Originele Duitse Anschluss-medaille van 1 oktober 1938 uit de periode van de Tweede Wereldoorlog

Deze onderscheiding staat bekend als de Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938 en werd ingesteld ter herinnering aan de annexatie van het Sudetenland door Duitsland.
De voorzijde toont twee mannen met een vlag, waarbij de ene figuur de andere naar een verhoogd platform leidt, met daaronder de Duitse adelaar met hakenkruis.
Op de keerzijde staat centraal de datum ‘1. Oktober 1938’ met rondom het opschrift ‘EIN VOLK · EIN REICH · EIN FÜHRER’.
De medaille is uitgevoerd in bronskleurig metaal en is voorzien van het kenmerkende zwart-rode lint.
Dit exemplaar is compleet met het lint en toont lichte gebruikssporen.
Een interessante originele Duitse onderscheiding die rechtstreeks verbonden is met de Duitse annexatie van het Sudetenland in 1938 en de gebeurtenissen voorafgaand aan de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
