Original WWII Dutch Schalkhaar Politie (Staatspolitie) Opperluitenant collar tab

Original Dutch collar tab of the Staatspolitie (Schalkhaar Police) from the period of the Second World War, corresponding to the rank of First Lieutenant (Opperluitenant).

This collar tab is made of dark blue cloth with a twisted silver-colored cord along the edge and features two embroidered stars indicating the officer rank. The piece formed part of the uniform of the Staatspolitie, the police force established during the German occupation, whose personnel were trained at the police training camp in Schalkhaar.

The reverse shows the original construction with cardboard backing and hand-applied attachment threads, typical of Dutch uniform insignia from this period. Collar tabs such as this were worn on the collar of the uniform and served as a clear rank distinction within the corps.

The Staatspolitie was established in 1941 by the German occupation authorities as a national police service in the Netherlands. Members of this unit were trained in Schalkhaar and deployed for police duties, maintaining order, and supporting the occupation authorities.

Originele WWII Nederlandse Schalkhaar Politie (Staatspolitie) Opperluitenant kraagspiegel

Originele Nederlandse kraagspiegel van de Staatspolitie (Schalkhaar-politie) uit de periode van de Tweede Wereldoorlog, behorend tot de rang van opperluitenant.
Deze kraagspiegel is uitgevoerd in donkerblauwe stof met een zilverkleurig gedraaid koord langs de rand en voorzien van twee geborduurde sterren, die de officiersrang aanduiden.
Het stuk maakte deel uit van het uniform van de Staatspolitie, de tijdens de Duitse bezetting gevormde politiedienst waarvan de opleiding plaatsvond in het politieopleidingskamp te Schalkhaar.
De achterzijde toont de oorspronkelijke constructie met kartonnen versteviging en handmatig aangebrachte bevestigingsdraden, zoals kenmerkend voor Nederlandse uniforminsignes uit deze periode. Kraagspiegels zoals deze werden op de kraag van het uniform gedragen en dienden als duidelijke rangonderscheiding binnen het korps.
De Staatspolitie werd in 1941 opgericht door de Duitse bezettingsautoriteiten als landelijke politiedienst in Nederland.
Leden van deze eenheid werden opgeleid in Schalkhaar en ingezet voor politietaken, ordehandhaving en ondersteuning van de bezettingsmacht.
Een interessant verzamelobject voor verzamelaars van Nederlandse WOII-militaria, politie-insignes en uniformstukken uit de bezettingsperiode.
