Een bijzondere set originele zwart-wit bevrijdingsfoto’s van de Prinses Irene Brigade, gemaakt tijdens de laatste fase van de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Nederland. Deze authentieke foto’s tonen geallieerde militairen van de Nederlandse Prinses Irene Brigade temidden van enthousiaste burgers in een bevrijde Nederlandse stad, waarbij duidelijk de spontane vreugde en opluchting van de bevolking zichtbaar is. De foto’s tonen onder meer soldaten in Brits georiënteerde uniformen en baretten die samen poseren met mannen, vrouwen en kinderen in de straat.
Op de achtergrond zijn winkelgevels en bebouwing zichtbaar, waaronder een zaak met de naam “Complete Meubileering”,. Eén van de beelden laat een colonne paard-en-wagenverkeer in de straat zien, hier is te zien hoe Duitse troepen zich terugtrekken. Andere foto’s tonen close-ups van militairen omringd door nieuwsgierige en glimlachende burgers, wat de sfeer van vrijheid en ontmoeting treffend vastlegt. De set bestaat uit 5 originele foto’s met een formaat van ca. 9 x 6 cm.
