Original WWII Dutch Photo SS Recruitment Office Amsterdam May 1945 Waffen-SS Propaganda

Original WWII Dutch photograph of a former SS recruitment office in Amsterdam, photographed in May 1945 shortly after the liberation.
The image shows the damaged shopfront of the recruitment office with Waffen-SS propaganda, photographs, posters and recruitment material still on display.
A large SS emblem can be seen in the window, together with the partially legible Dutch recruitment text ‘Bij de Waffen SS’.
The damage and debris in front of the building document the condition of the recruitment office during the chaotic period surrounding the end of the German occupation.
The reverse bears a handwritten Dutch annotation identifying the location as an SS recruitment office and placing the photograph in Amsterdam in May 1945.
The photograph measures approximately 14 x 10 cm.
An interesting original photographic document of Waffen-SS propaganda and recruitment in the Netherlands during the final days of the Second World War.

Originele WWII Nederlandse foto van een voormalig SS-wervingsbureau in Amsterdam, gefotografeerd in mei 1945 kort na de bevrijding

De opname toont de beschadigde etalage van het wervingsbureau met nog aanwezige Waffen-SS propaganda, foto’s, affiches en wervingsmateriaal.
In de etalage is onder meer een groot SS-embleem zichtbaar en is de tekst ‘Bij de Waffen SS’ gedeeltelijk leesbaar.
De beschadigingen en het puin voor het pand tonen de toestand van het wervingsbureau tijdens de chaotische periode rond het einde van de Duitse bezetting.
Op de achterzijde staat een handgeschreven Nederlandse aantekening die de opname als een SS-wervingsbureau aanduidt en deze in mei 1945 in Amsterdam plaatst.
De foto meet circa 14 x 10 cm.
Een bijzonder origineel fotografisch document van Waffen-SS propaganda en werving in Nederland tijdens de laatste dagen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
