Original WWII Dutch photo set of the bombing of Kleykamp in Den Haag

The two Dutch photos are in good condition and were taken on April 11, 1944 a few moments after the bombing of Kleykamp in The Hague.
In 1944 it was the headquarters of the Rijksinspectie van de Bevolkingsregisters.
There were large chests of drawers in the building containing about nine million receipts of the personal ID introduced by the German occupiers.
The shadow records in Villa Kleykamp contained the same information as was included on the original personal ID, such as personalia, a photograph and a fingerprint. The presence of these documents made it difficult to forge personal identification cards, which is why the resistance had requested that the Allies bomb the administration.
The Allies complied with this request. On April 11, 1944, the precision bombing of Villa Kleykamp took place. On that day at about 2:30 p.m., six De Havilland Mosquito fighter-bombers bombed the large white building.

De twee Nederlandse foto’s zijn in goede conditie en werden genomen op 11 april 1944 enkele ogenblikken na het bombardement op Kleykamp in Den Haag.
In 1944 was het de hoofdzetel van de Rijksinspectie van de Bevolkingsregisters.
Er stonden in het pand grote ladekasten met daarin ongeveer negen miljoen ontvangstbewijzen van het door de Duitse bezetter ingevoerde persoonsbewijs.
De schaduwadministratie in Villa Kleykamp bevatte dezelfde informatie als op het originele persoonsbewijs was opgenomen, zoals personalia, een foto en een vingerafdruk. De aanwezigheid van die documenten bemoeilijkte het vervalsen van persoonsbewijzen, daarom had het verzet aan de geallieerden verzocht om de administratie te bombarderen.
De geallieerden gaven aan dit verzoek gehoor. Op 11 april 1944 vond het precisiebombardement op Villa Kleykamp plaats. Op die dag om ongeveer 14.30 uur bombardeerden zes De Havilland Mosquito jachtbommenwerpers het grote witte gebouw.
