NSVO – National Socialist Women’s Organization

The NSVO (Nationaal-Socialistische Vrouwenorganisatie) was a Dutch women’s organization closely associated with the National Socialist Movement (NSB) of Anton Mussert during World War II. Founded in 1942, its aim was to educate women to become “worthy members of the national-socialist people’s community.” The NSVO promoted traditional gender roles in which women were primarily seen as mothers, housewives, and supporters of their husbands.
The organization was heavily inspired by the German Nationalsozialistische Frauenschaft and served as a propaganda channel for national-socialist ideology among Dutch women.
It organized meetings, training sessions, and courses focused on homemaking, child-rearing, and racial awareness.

NSVO – Nationaal-Socialistische Vrouwenorganisatie

De NSVO (Nationaal-Socialistische Vrouwenorganisatie) was een Nederlandse vrouwenorganisatie die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog nauw verbonden was met de Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging (NSB) van Anton Mussert.
De organisatie werd in 1942 opgericht en had als doel vrouwen op te voeden tot “volwaardige leden van de nationaal-socialistische volksgemeenschap”.
De NSVO propageerde traditionele rolpatronen waarbij de vrouw vooral moeder, huisvrouw en ondersteunster van de man moest zijn.
De organisatie was sterk geïnspireerd op het Duitse model van de Nationalsozialistische Frauenschaft en fungeerde als propagandakanaal voor de nationaalsocialistische ideologie onder Nederlandse vrouwen. Ze organiseerde bijeenkomsten, opleidingen en cursussen op het gebied van huishouden, opvoeding, en rasbewustzijn.
