Original WWII Dutch NSB Woven arm insignia – Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging

Original WWII Dutch NSB sleeve emblem dating from the German occupation of the Netherlands.
This is a triangular woven cloth emblem of the Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging in the Netherlands.
The emblem features a black background with a red field and yellow detailing.
At the centre is a crowned shield bearing the Dutch lion, executed in several colours.
The letters ‘N’, ‘S’ and ‘B’ are incorporated into the weave around the shield, representing the abbreviation for Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging.
The reverse clearly shows the woven construction and the various coloured threads used to create the design.
The emblem was worn on the arm as part of NSB clothing and served as a recognizable political insignia of the movement.
The NSB was founded by Anton Mussert in 1931 and became the principal Dutch National Socialist collaboration movement during the German occupation.
This example remains in used condition with minor traces of wear and some fraying around the edges.

Origineel WWII Nederlands NSB armembleem uit de periode van de Duitse bezetting van Nederland

Het betreft een driehoekig uitgevoerd geweven stoffen embleem van de Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging in Nederland.
Het embleem heeft een zwarte ondergrond met een rood vlak en geel uitgevoerde details.
Centraal bevindt zich een gekroond wapenschild met de Nederlandse leeuw, uitgevoerd in meerdere kleuren.
Rond het wapenschild zijn de letters ‘N’, ‘S’ en ‘B’ in het weefsel verwerkt, als afkorting van Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging.
De achterzijde toont duidelijk de geweven constructie en de verschillende gekleurde draden waarmee het ontwerp is opgebouwd.
Het embleem werd op de arm gedragen als onderdeel van NSB-kleding en vormde een herkenbaar politiek onderscheidingsteken van de beweging.
De NSB werd in 1931 opgericht door Anton Mussert en ontwikkelde zich tijdens de Duitse bezetting tot de belangrijkste Nederlandse nationaalsocialistische collaboratiebeweging.
Het exemplaar verkeert in gebruikte conditie met lichte gebruikssporen.
