Arie Johannes Zondervan 

Arie Johannes Zondervan (1910–1983) was a prominent official within the National Socialist Movement (NSB) in the Netherlands during World War II.
Born in Berlin, he joined the NSB in 1934 and quickly advanced within the organization.
From 1940 to 1943, he served as the commander of the Weerbaarheidsafdeling (WA), the paramilitary wing of the NSB. In this role, he led the WA during public parades and gatherings, often appearing in uniform.
In 1943, Zondervan joined the Waffen-SS and served on the Eastern Front.
After the war, he was arrested and convicted for collaboration. His involvement with both the NSB and the Waffen-SS made him a controversial figure in Dutch history.

Arie Johannes Zondervan

Arie Johannes Zondervan (1910–1983) was een prominente functionaris binnen de Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging (NSB) in Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Geboren in Berlijn, trad hij in 1934 toe tot de NSB en maakte snel carrière binnen de organisatie. Van 1940 tot 1943 was hij commandant van de Weerbaarheidsafdeling (WA), de paramilitaire tak van de NSB. In deze rol leidde hij de WA tijdens openbare optochten en bijeenkomsten, waarbij hij vaak in uniform aanwezig was.
In 1943 trad Zondervan toe tot de Waffen-SS en diende hij aan het Oostfront. Na de oorlog werd hij gearresteerd en veroordeeld voor collaboratie. Zijn betrokkenheid bij de NSB en de Waffen-SS maakte hem tot een controversieel figuur in de Nederlandse geschiedenis.
