Original WWII Dutch NSB letters from Anton Mussert to SS-Obergruppenführer Von Bayer-Ehrenberg

These two NSB letters come from NSB leader Anton Mussert and were sent to SS-Obergruppenführer Von Bayer-Ehrenberg on May 19, 1944.
One letter is in Dutch and the other in German.

‘Dear Obergruppenführer,
I thank you very much for your letter of congratulations on the occasion of my 50th birthday.
It gives me great satisfaction that you, Obergruppenführer, speak with such appreciation of my men who are under your command. You are fully aware of how much I appreciate your high leadership of these men. The NSKK Gruppe Luftwaffe is always cited by me as proof that it is not a fantasy to speak of cooperation between European peoples.
This group was built up under the most difficult circumstances; You did not have access to good Dutch non-commissioned officers and officers, you had to work partly with men who had been recruited, and yet something grew out of this that gives us all great satisfaction. It is essentially your spirit and that of the best of your officers, who, in collaboration with my National Socialists, who came out of idealistic considerations, have achieved this result.
I am very grateful to you for this and hope and trust that my men will behave bravely and faithfully in the deployment expected in the West.
With my best wishes for your personal well-being and in National Socialist solidarity, Your Mussert.’

Originele WWII Nederlandse NSB brieven van Anton Mussert naar SS-Obergruppenführer Von Bayer-Ehrenberg

Deze twee NSB brieven zijn afkomstig van de NSB leider Anton Mussert en verstuurd aan SS-Obergruppenführer Von Bayer-Ehrenberg op 19 mei 1944.
De ene brief is in het Nederlands en de andere in het Duits.

‘Hooggeachte Obergruppenführer,
Voor Uw brief van gelukwensch ter gelegenheid van mijn 50sten verjaardag, dank ik U ten zeerste.
Dat gij, Obergruppenführer, met zooveel waardeering spreekt over mijn mannen, die zich onder Uw commando bevinden, is mij een groote voldoening. Het is U volkomen bekend hoezeer ik het op prijs stel, dat U hooge leiding geeft aan deze mannen. De NSKK Gruppe Luftwaffe wordt door mij altijd aangehaald als het bewijs, dat het geen phantasie is te spreken van samenwerking van Europeesche  volkeren.
Onder moeilijkste omstandigheiden is toch deze Gruppe opgebouwd; Gij hadt niet de beschikking over goede Nederlandsche onderofficieren en officieren, moest werken ten deele met mannen die geworven waren en toch is daaruit iets gegroeid, dat ons allen groote voldoening geeft. Het is in hoofdzaak Uw geest en die van de besten Uwer officieren, die in samenwerking met mijn uit idealistische overwegingen gegane Nationaal-Socialisten, dit resultaat hebben bereikt.
Ik ben U daarvoor in hooge mate erkentelijk en hoop en vertrouw, dat mijn mannen zich bij de in het Westen te verwachten inzet dapper en trouw gedragen zullen.
Met mijn beste wenschen voor Uw persoonlijk welzijn en in Nationaal-Socialistische verbondenheid, Uw Mussert.’
