Original WWII Dutch ‘Militair Gezag’ stamp

Wooden stamp of the Military Authority, used in the Netherlands during and immediately after the Second World War (circa 1944–1946).
The stamp features the Dutch national coat of arms with crown and the text “MILITAIR GEZAG” and was used for official administrative purposes during the temporary military administration in liberated areas.
Made with a solid wooden handle and wooden base with a metal stamp plate.
For clarity, the photo of the underside has been mirrored, so that the actual text and image of the stamp impression can be clearly seen.
A rare historical object, suitable for collectors of WWII memorabilia and governmental and military history.

Originele WWII Nederlandse ‘Militair Gezag’ stempel

Houten stempel van het Militair Gezag, gebruikt in Nederland in de periode tijdens en direct na de Tweede Wereldoorlog (circa 1944–1946). De stempel is voorzien van het Nederlandse rijkswapen met kroon en de tekst “MILITAIR GEZAG” en diende voor officiële administratieve doeleinden tijdens het tijdelijk militaire bestuur in bevrijde gebieden. Uitgevoerd met een massief houten handgreep en houten basis met metalen stempelplaat. Ter verduidelijking is de foto van de onderzijde in spiegelbeeld weergegeven, zodat goed zichtbaar is welke tekst en afbeelding de stempelafdruk weergeeft.
Een zeldzaam historisch object, geschikt voor verzamelaars van WOII-memorabilia, overheids- en militaire geschiedenis.
