This M34 Dutch Army helmet is in good condition and was worn by the commander of the Dutch Red Cross transport cologne and doctor H.A.V. Giesberger during World War II.
In the May 1940, the Red Cross transport cologne took wounded and killed soldiers out of the Grebbeberg positions.
Giesberger was stationed in the town of Zeist and also lived there with his wife during the war.
The helmet has a white layer of paint with a red cross on the front and also the Dutch helmet plate with the lion is still present.

Deze M34 Nederlands leger helm is in goede conditie en werd gedragen door de commandant van de Nederlands Rode Kruis transportcologne en arts H.A.V. Giesberger tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
In de meidagen van 1940 haalde de Rode Kruis transportcologne gewonden en gesneuvelde soldaten uit de stellingen van de Grebbeberg.
Giesberger zat gelegerd te Zeist en woonde gedurende de oorlog daar ook met zijn vrouw.
De helm is voorzien van een witte laag verf met een rood kruis aan de voorzijde en tevens is de Nederlandse helmplaat met de leeuw nog aanwezig.
Een prachtige helm met een zeer bijzonder verhaal!
