Original WWII Dutch Liberation Proclamation Poster Kampen 17 April 1945 NBS

Original Dutch proclamation poster from the Second World War, issued in Kampen on 17 April 1945 during the liberation of the city.
The proclamation announces that German occupation rule had ended while the lawful Dutch and Allied military authorities had not yet arrived in the city.
During this transitional period, authority in Kampen was exercised by the lawful municipal administration under supervision of the Nederlandse Binnenlandsche Strijdkrachten, abbreviated N.B.S.
The document names Mayor H. M. Oldenhof, Police Commissioner W. F. O. van der Drift and Municipal Secretary H. Bakker as representatives of the civil administration.
The Nederlandse Binnenlandsche Strijdkrachten in Kampen are represented by Ir. J. W. Harmsen as local commander and W. H. de Boer as officer for civil affairs.
Residents were instructed to maintain peace and order and to assist during the difficult transitional period until the lawful Dutch government and Allied forces could assume authority.
The prominent appeal ‘Helpt allen mede!’ calls upon the population of Kampen to cooperate in maintaining an orderly transition following German occupation.
The bottom is printed ‘Namens het plaatselijk Gezag, De Commandant N.B.S., De Burgemeester’ together with the important place and date ‘Kampen, 17 April 1945’.
A particularly interesting local liberation document directly connected with the transfer of authority at the end of the German occupation of Kampen.

Originele Nederlandse proclamatieposter uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, uitgegeven in Kampen op 17 april 1945 tijdens de bevrijding van de stad

De proclamatie maakt bekend dat de macht van de Duitse bezetter is geëindigd, terwijl het wettige Nederlandse militaire geallieerde gezag op dat moment nog niet ter plaatse aanwezig was.
Tijdens deze overgangsperiode werd het gezag in Kampen waargenomen door het wettige gemeentebestuur, onder toezicht van de Nederlandse Binnenlandsche Strijdkrachten, afgekort N.B.S.
In de tekst worden burgemeester H. M. Oldenhof, commissaris van politie W. F. O. van der Drift en gemeentesecretaris H. Bakker genoemd als vertegenwoordigers van het burgerlijk bestuur.
De Nederlandse Binnenlandsche Strijdkrachten in Kampen worden vertegenwoordigd door Ir. J. W. Harmsen als plaatselijk commandant en W. H. de Boer als officier voor civiele zaken.
De bevolking wordt opgeroepen rust en orde te bewaren en mee te werken aan het overbruggen van de periode tot de komst van de wettige Nederlandse regering en de geallieerde legers.
De opvallende afsluiting ‘Helpt allen mede!’ benadrukt de oproep aan de inwoners van Kampen om gezamenlijk bij te dragen aan een ordelijke overgang na de Duitse bezetting.
