Original WWII Desk ornament aluminum V1 rocket

Desk ornament in the shape of a V1 rocket from the period of the Second World War or possibly the liberation period. This ornament is made of aluminum and mounted on a cleanly designed triangular base, giving it an industrial appearance. The design directly references the historical Vergeltungswaffe 1 (V1), the unmanned weapon deployed by Germany from 1944 onwards.

It is unclear whether this example was used by a German unit during the war, or whether it may have been issued in Belgium (Antwerp) as a commemorative piece marking the resilience of Antwerp during the V1 attacks of 1944 in the liberation period.

An interesting collectible for any militaria or Second World War collection.

Origineel WWII Bureauornament aluminium V1 raket 

Bureauornament in de vorm van een V1-raket uit de periode van de Tweede Wereldoorlog of wellicht bevrijdingsperiode. Dit ornament is uitgevoerd in aluminium en gemonteerd op een strak vormgegeven, driehoekige voet, wat het geheel een industriële uitstraling geeft. De vormgeving verwijst direct naar de historische Vergeltungswaffe 1 (V1), het onbemande wapen dat door Duitsland werd ingezet vanaf 1944. Het is voor ons onduidelijk of dit exemplaar door een Duitse eenheid gebruikt is, of uitgegeven werd in België (Antwerpen) om het herdenken van het doorzettingsvermogen van Antwerpen tijdens de V1-aanvallen van 1944 uit de bevrijdingsperiode. Een interessant verzamelobject voor de militaria of Tweede Wereldoorlog collectie!
