Original WWI German grouping Otto Zarn – Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments 201

The set comes from Otto Zarn who served in the Reserve Infantry Regiment 201 during World War I.
Otto Zarn is the author of the famous book  ‘Geschichte des Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments Nr. 201’ which he wrote in 1940.
The set consists of his M1907 field cap, Soldbuch, military passes, a framed photo of a military friend and his two photo albums/diaries that are full of unique photo material, signed cards, hand-drawn drawings, dropping leaflets etc. Otto Zarn has several times fought on the Western Front and Eastern Front with his unit and recorded his entire story in the two photo albums, this he did is 1937.
Otto fought in countries such as Germany, Belgium, France, Serbia, Poland, Ukraine.
Nearly every photo has an handwritten description where it was made or what can be seen.
A wonderful detail is that encounter photos with the Russians can be seen during a ceasefire.
In the photo, a Russian soldier is holding a dropping flyer and the same flyer is present in the album!
One of the best WWI groupings we ever had and it tells the complete story from 1914 until 1918!

Originele WWI Duitse grouping Otto Zarn – Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments 201

De set is afkomstig van Otto Zarn welke diende in het Reserve Infanterie Regiment 201 gedurende de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
Otto Zarn is de auteur van het boek ‘Geschichte des Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments Nr. 201’ welke hij in 1940 schreeft.
De set bestaat uit zijn M1907 veldmuts, soldbuch, militaire passen, een ingelijste foto van een militaire vriend en zijn twee foto albums/dagboeken die vol zitten met uniek foto materiaal, ingetekende kaarten, handgetekende tekeningen, dropping leaflets etc.
Otto Zarn heeft diverse keren aan het Westfront en Oostfront gevochten met zijn eenheid en zijn gehele verhaal in de twee foto albums vast gelegd, dit deed hij is 1937.
Otto vocht in de landen zoals Duitsland, België, Frankrijk, Servië, Polen, Oekraïne.
Bij elke foto heeft een handgeschreven omschrijving van wat er te zien is.
Een prachtig detail is dat er ontmoetings foto’s met de Russen te zien zijn gedurende een staakt het vuren.
Op de foto houd een Russische militair een droppingsflyer vast en dezelfde flyer is in het album aanwezig!
Dit is voor ons de bijzonderste Eerste Wereldoorlog set die wij ooit gehad hebben omdat het gehele verhaal verteld wordt en zichtbaar is vanaf 1914 tot en met 1918!
