Original Pre 1940 Dutch/French ‘Luchtvaartafdeeling’ flight trousers

Original leather pilot trousers originating from the French Air Force from the period before 1940.
This type of flight trousers was not only worn by French aviators but was also used by pilots of the Dutch Luchtvaartafdeeling in the years before and during the German invasion of 1940.
The trousers are made of heavy brown leather and were designed for use in open cockpit aircraft and cold flight conditions.
Long metal zippers run along the sides allowing the trousers to be easily worn over other clothing.
The trousers feature characteristic thigh pockets with buttoned flaps commonly seen on early European aviation garments.
Adjustable waist straps and metal rings are present for attaching suspenders or support straps.

Originele Pre 1940 Nederlandse/Franse ‘Luchtvaartafdeeling’ piloten broek 

Originele leren pilotenbroek afkomstig uit de Franse luchtmacht uit de periode vóór 1940.
Dit type vliegersbroek werd naast Franse vliegers ook gedragen door piloten van de Nederlandse Luchtvaartafdeeling in de jaren vóór en tijdens de Duitse inval van 1940.
De broek is vervaardigd uit zwaar bruin leer en ontworpen voor gebruik in open cockpits en koude vliegomstandigheden.
Aan de zijkanten bevinden zich lange metalen ritsen waardoor de broek eenvoudig over andere kleding kon worden aangetrokken.
De broek beschikt over karakteristieke dijzakken met klep en knoopsluiting zoals vaak gezien op vroege Europese vliegerskleding.
Aan de taille bevinden zich verstelbare riemen en metalen ringen voor bevestiging van bretels of draagbanden.
De binnenzijde is voorzien van een voering die extra comfort en isolatie bood tijdens vluchten op grotere hoogte.
