Original border sign made of hardboard from the Cold War period, formerly installed along the state border between the DDR and the BDR.
The sign served as an official warning at the border crossing and features the characteristic yellow background with red border and black lettering “Halt! Staatsgrenze! Passieren und Fotografieren verboten!”, including the DDR state emblem, Deutsche Demokratische Republik.
This type of sign was also found in the vicinity of the Berlin Wall.

Origineel Duits Koude Oorlog DDR grensbord ‘Staatsgrenze’
Origineel DDR grensbord van hardboard uit de periode van de Koude Oorlog, destijds geplaatst aan de staatsgrens tussen de DDR en de BRD. Het bord diende als officiële waarschuwing bij de grensovergang en is uitgevoerd in de kenmerkende gele kleur met rode rand en zwarte belettering “Halt! Staatsgrenze! Passieren und Fotografieren verboten!”, voorzien van het DDR-staatswapen, Deutsche Demokratische Republik.
Dit type bord stond ook in de omgeving van de Berlijnse muur.
