Original Dutch KNIL (1945-1949) officers cap insignia

This Dutch KNIL officer’s cap badge was intended for officers and used during the period of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army (1945–1949), specifically during the Politionele Actions in the Dutch East Indies.
This handcrafted emblem is made of black wool with richly applied gold-colored wire and cord embroidery depicting the Dutch lion, surrounded by a laurel wreath.
The badge was worn on the officer’s cap and symbolized rank and prestige within the colonial army in the Dutch East Indies.
The reverse side shows the original finish with cardboard reinforcement and stitching.

Origineel Nederlands KNIL (1945-1949) officiers pet embleem 

Dit Nederlandse KNIL petembleem was bedoeld voor officieren, gebruikt in de periode van het Koninklijk Nederlands-Indisch Leger (1945-1949) tijdens de Politionele acties in Nederlands-Indië.
Dit handgemaakte embleem is uitgevoerd in zwart wol met rijkelijk aangebrachte goudkleurige draad- en koordborduursels in de vorm van de Nederlandse leeuw, omringd door een lauwerkrans.
Het embleem werd gedragen op de officierspet en staat symbool voor rang en prestige binnen het koloniale leger in Nederlands-Indië.
De achterzijde toont de originele afwerking met kartonversteviging en steeknaden. Perfect voor de KNIL collectie!
