Original Dutch Korps Gezagstroepen shoulder title dating from 1945.
The curved cloth insignia is made in olive green with the word ‘GEZAGSTROEPEN’ embroidered in red lettering.
Following the disbandment of the Dutch Internal Forces, or Binnenlandse Strijdkrachten, on 8 August 1945, former B.S. members could return home or continue serving within the Dutch armed forces.
Those wishing to remain in military service could, among other options, join the Korps Gezagstroepen.
These troops were tasked with maintaining public order, providing military assistance to the police and carrying out guard duties throughout the Netherlands.
The insignia was worn on the uniform as an identification title and shows clear signs of use.
An interesting piece of original Dutch military insignia from the immediate post-war period, closely connected with the transition from the Dutch Resistance forces to the regular armed forces.

Origineel Nederlands Korps Gezagstroepen embleem uit 1945

Het gebogen stoffen embleem is uitgevoerd in olijfgroen met de tekst ‘GEZAGSTROEPEN’ in rood geborduurde letters.
Na de opheffing van de Binnenlandse Strijdkrachten per 8 augustus 1945 konden voormalige B.S.-leden naar huis terugkeren of kiezen voor verdere dienst binnen de Nederlandse krijgsmacht.
Voor degenen die in militaire dienst wilden blijven bestond onder andere de mogelijkheid toe te treden tot het Korps Gezagstroepen.
Deze troepen werden ingezet voor het handhaven van orde en rust, het verlenen van militaire bijstand aan de politie en het uitvoeren van bewakingsopdrachten binnen Nederland.
Het embleem werd als herkenningsteken op het uniform gedragen en vertoont duidelijke gebruikssporen.
Een interessant origineel Nederlands militair embleem uit de directe naoorlogse periode, nauw verbonden met de overgang van de Binnenlandse Strijdkrachten naar de reguliere krijgsmacht.
