Original Certificate of Registration as a War Volunteer (Model No. 3), issued by the Department of the Navy / Department of War, dating from the immediate post-war period.
This document confirms the registration of a Dutch serviceman, born in Ede on 10 April 1924. At the time of registration, he was residing at Wilhelmina III-laan 20, Breda. The registration took place on 4 July 1945 at the Registration Office for War Volunteers in Breda, where he was entered under number 44409 on the official register.
With this registration, he made himself available for military service and subsequently departed as a war volunteer to the Dutch East Indies, as part of the Dutch military deployment to the former colony in the years immediately following the Second World War. The document also includes the standard notice stating that voluntary registration did not exempt the registrant from compulsory military service.

Origineel Bewijs van Aanmelding als Oorlogsvrijwilliger (Model No. 3), uitgegeven door het Departement van Marine / Departement van Oorlog, uit de directe naoorlogse periode. Dit document bevestigt de aanmelding van Nederlandse militair, geboren te Ede op 10 april 1924.
Op het moment van inschrijving was hij woonachtig aan de Wilhelmina III-laan 20 te Breda. De aanmelding vond plaats op 4 juli 1945 bij het Aanmeldingsbureau voor Oorlogsvrijwilligers te Breda, waar hij werd geregistreerd onder nummer 44409 op de officiële verzamelijst.
Met deze aanmelding stelde hij zich beschikbaar voor militaire dienst en vertrok hij vervolgens als oorlogsvrijwilliger naar Nederlands-Indië, in het kader van de Nederlandse inzet in de voormalige kolonie in de jaren direct na de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Het document bevat tevens de standaardmededeling dat deze vrijwillige aanmelding geen vrijstelling betekende van de wettelijke dienstplicht. Een interessant document mbt de geschiedenis van Nederlandse oorlogsvrijwilligers en de inzet in Nederlands-Indië!
