Original Dutch metal sleeve badge of the Expeditionary Force, or ‘Expeditionaire Macht’, dating from the 1945-1949 period in the Netherlands East Indies.
The letters ‘EM’ stand for ‘Expeditionaire Macht’, from which the 1st ‘7 December’ Division was formed in 1946.
The shield-shaped insignia has a red background and features an upright sword within a wreath, with crossed weapons below and the letters ‘E M’.
The design was worn by Dutch military personnel deployed to the Netherlands East Indies during the post-war period.
The reverse features a horizontal pin construction for attaching the metal badge to the uniform.

Origineel Nederlands metalen mouwembleem van de Expeditionaire Macht uit de periode 1945-1949 in Nederlands-Indië
De letters ‘EM’ staan voor ‘Expeditionaire Macht’, waaruit in 1946 de 1e Divisie ‘7 December’ werd gevormd.
Het schildvormige embleem heeft een rode achtergrond en toont centraal een rechtopstaand zwaard binnen een krans, met daaronder gekruiste wapens en de letters ‘E M’.
Het ontwerp werd gedragen door Nederlandse militairen die tijdens de naoorlogse periode naar Nederlands-Indië werden uitgezonden.
Op de achterzijde bevindt zich een horizontale speld constructie waarmee het metalen embleem op het uniform kon worden gedragen.
